With the Smart Seal & Profile solution, large well known organizations such as D&B, can lend qualified, verified businesses from their own credibility, by offering these businesses a branded Seal to put on their websites. The Seal provider retains control of the Seal, and can remove it at any time, assuring Internet users that if the Seal appears on the site, that the business continues to be in good status per the Seal providers’ known certification standards.

Built on the OTS platform, the Smart Seal & Profile solution has the following central components:

The Smart Seal: This is a branded image delivered to websites through Trusted Partners’ TP Zone technology. Seal Providers provide qualified businesses with a line of code (instead of a simple image) that is identical for all users, to install on their websites. Once installed, each time the page with the Seal loads, the TP Zone technology authenticates vis a vis the backend system (the OTS) that the website is allowed to display a seal, and ‘delivers’ the seal only if the website is authenticated.

The Smart Seal & Profile solution allows for the creation of multiple seals. Which seal is delivered to which URL is setup in the back office application, the OTMS.

The Profile: Leveraging the TP Zone technology once again, when a Seal is clicked the TP Zone communicates with the backend system to retrieve a profile for the company, which is displayed in a separate, specially designed window. TheTP Zone technology ensures the security of the profile, and of the information contained within.

As with the Smart Seal, the solution gives great flexibility in the design and content of profiles, allowing Seal providers to offer varying levels of profiles, for instance simple profiles with only basic information and deep profiles with large amounts of verified information. In addition, the OTS is fully multilingual, so profiles can be provided in multiple languages as well.

The OTMS: The Online Trust Management System or OTMS is the rich back office application, through which seals and profiles are managed. Businesses that purchase a Seal are entered into the OTMS, as is all of the data required for the Profile. Seals and profiles are then setup and associated with URLs. Seals are controlled through the OTMS, and can be enabled or disabled with the click of a button.

3rd Party System Connectivity: As Seal providers often have their own existing systems for managing their customer data from other businesses, the Smart Seal & Profile solution provides a set of customizable web services for creating an interface between the Seal provider systems and the OTS. The web services offer services such as inserting data from a 3rd party system into the OTS and automatic enabling or disabling of a Seal based on some condition being met by a given company, e.g. a company goes bankrupt.
